Do I have to know how to dance to participate?
-
Of course not! We're willing to teach anybody how to dance, that's half the fun.
Scheduled lessons are part lesson, part dance. We
feature a new dance every week for the first part. The part is an
open dance. We pop in a CD, do a few songs, and then change CDs. It's a
lot of fun!
What if I have two left feet?
-
If you have two left feet, we don't care. as long as
you're willing to put in the effort to learn, we're willing to help you learn.
Do I need a partner?
-
Definitely not! Most people come without partners, and
everyone gets a chance to dance with whoever they want. Don't hesitate to ask
someone to dance. We're all more than willing to dance or help out with steps.
Is it too late to join?
-
BDO nights are partially classroom environments so
we recommend that you start coming ASAP but It's Never Too Late To Join!
Feel free to come at anytime, but the best time would be when we're just
starting a lesson. There will always be people on hand to help you figure stuff
out even if you've missed a few meetings.
Are there any special clothes that I should wear?
-
Due to the beautiful floor that we're allowed to dance
on, we ask that you bring a change of shoes. Black-soled sneakers (or anything
that will leave rubber marks all over the floor) are not permitted as per
Recreation Services Policy. Otherwise, anything you're comfortable dancing in
is fine.
What if my question isn’t answered in the faq?
-
E-mail
us, with your question, or come to a meeting and ask one of us
personally. We’d be happy to help
with anything relating to social dance or BDO.
