NATIONAL ACADEMIES: The national academies is a private nonprofit organization. The academies deliver public service by providing expert scientific knowledge, addressing critical national issues and giving advice pro bono to the federal government and the public. More than 12 departments hire PhDs, including the Division of Behavioral & Social Sciences& Education, Earth and Life Sciences Division and Engineering and Physical Sciences.
REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL LABORATORIES NETWORK: The REL network is comprised of 10 laboratories providing access to research and best practices at the state, local and regional level. The laboratories conduct applied research and deliver training and technical assistance to schools, communities and states.
