Graduate Assistantships at Career Services
Over the years, the Center for Career Services has provided an
assistantship at the Center. Most recently, GA's have been drawn
from the School of Education's graduate programs in either Counselor
Education or Higher Education Administration. Under the guidance
of the Center's senior counseling staff, these GA's have gained
exposure to the counseling, advising, and programming that occurs
during a specific semester.
The Center has a formal training program that
is supported with a training manual outlining resources and scenarios
with which the GA is to become acquainted. Regular supervision
insures approriate feedback and professional growth. GA's are
also afforded chances to become involved with special events and
projects sponsored by the Center. In recent years, these have
included career fair events, innovative workshops, and the launch
of an expanded alumni networking program.
Students wishing to explore such opportunities
should visit the Center or email
Mike Cahill , Director, to ascertain
the needs for upcoming semesters and be prepared to submit a letter
and resume to begin the process of consideration.
