Student Services Summary
The Center for Career Services provides assistance
with career planning, from initial exploration of academic majors
and career fields to acquisition of pre-graduation experience
to guidance and specific connections related to post-graduate
opportunities and education options. Services are available to
all graduate and undergraduate students as well as alumni. The
types of services are varied to meet the needs of people in all
discipline areas, as well as the various stages in career planning.
Services and resources include:
Personalized career counseling and internship/job-search
coaching
Standardized career guidance testing
Resume and cover letter critiquing
Coordination of internships through the SU Internship Program
On- and off-campus interviewing with employers
A web-based service, OrangeLink, linking students and
alumni to current job and internship openings, on-campus recruiting,
a calendar of career-related events, career and industry research
materials and alumni mentors
Specific staff dedicated to the needs of Ph.D. and other
grad students
A career resource area with print information on employers,
careers, job search strategies, and further study
A credential service for letters of recommendation and
other documents
Videotaped mock interviews
Professional and graduate school advising, information,
and related events
Special programs for student groups
Print and online news magazines and publications
Access to an online alumni mentor database, Mentor@SU
Several annual career fairs and related events
