Acceptance Letters

Congratulations! This is the letter you've been waiting to write throughout a difficult, frustrating search! It should follow your thorough evaluation of all facets of an offer as represented to you both orally by the employer and in writing in the form of an offer letter or email detailing position, responsibilties, expectations, compensation and benefits.

The letter opens with a thank you and an acceptance statement. The second paragraph should restate your understanding of the position and any special considerations which may have been offered or negotiated by you. If an original offer letter did not include reference to such special items, the candidate should ask for clarification and an amended letter before making a final acceptance. This letter may indeed follow an oral acceptance delivered in person or by phone. A copy should be kept with the offer letter to aid in any clarifications should conditions of the offer not be met by the employers.

Thank you for your letter of April 18, offering me a postion with Carris Corporation as a Design Engineer. I am very pleased to accept your offer.

It is my understanding that the postion will begin on July 1, 2XXX, with an annual starting salary of $52,500. I also understand that my relocation expenses are 100% reimbursable.

I am very excited about the challenge of working with Carris Corporation and am confident that it will be a rewarding relationship.
