Mentor@SU>Become a Mentor

Program Overview
Through the Mentor @ SU program, mentors are linked with students and alumni who are
interested in career exploration and the job search process. In some instances, mentors request
to establish internship, job shadowing and job opportunity potentials through the
mentoring process. For these employer mentors, Mentor @ SU becomes a direct link between
SU graduates and employers. On an average, mentors receive one to three contacts
each year.

Expectations
Mentor profile information is stored in a secure, online database. Only non-personal information
is available to students and alumni. Mentor names and contact information are released
only to students and alumni registered for Mentor @ SU through the Center for Career
Services.

Managing Your OnlineProfile
SU mentor profile information is located online. However, only non-personal information is accessible to students. Prior to the release of mentor names and contact information, students and alumni must register for the program through the Center for Career Services. Please help us provide reliable and accurate contact information by accessing and updating your profile.
How to Access Your Online Mentor Profile:
1. Log on to the Center for Career Services home page at:
http://students.syr.edu/careerservices/index.html .
2. Click the eRecruiting link located on the upper, left side of the home page.
3. Enter username and password. (Username = your first and last name, no space between names and
all lowercase letters; Password = orange).
4. Click on the View Profile link, located on the bottom, right side of the page.
5. Four pages of information need to be reviewed and modified as appropriate:
Personal/Academic/Professional/Mentoring.. Click on the desired page.
6. Click Edit and revise information as appropriate.
7. Click Save.
How to Update Your Online Mentor Profile:
Changing Your Account Password: You can change your eRecruiting password through your Profile page.
To change your password:
1. Click on the View Profile link on your home page.
2. On your Profile page, click on the link to Change Password. The Change Password page is opened.
