Basic structural theory, building processes, systems, materials,
and code requirements for the design of new construction and remodeling.
Vocabulary of architectural communication. Spring ‘99 class
did a project for the Syracuse Lakefront Development Corporation
– studies for a Harborfest Hotel in Onondaga Lake.

Course Description:
Research for the interior environment: lighting, computers, technology,
furniture, materials, special populations, ergonomics, environmental
and future needs. Theoretical and experimental design projects.
Students work with real clients to analyze a written program and
design a solution. Teams of students came up with exterior design
ideas for the St. Camillus Rehabilitation Center during the Fall
of 1998.

Course Description:
Contract Documentation and administration for contract commercial
interior design projects. Students work with real clients to analyze
a written program and design a solution. Students completed a
comprehensive design package for the Jowonio School, Syracuse
NY, in the Spring of 1999.

Seeks to develop mastery of body and voice by applying speech
communication theories to the oral interpretation of messages.
Students go on site to elementary schools and read to children,
then discuss books they have read.
