PROGRAM HOURS, LOCATION AND MEMBERSHIP The SU Early Education and Child Care Center offers a responsive, developmental full-day program during the academic year and both summer sessions. The Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the academic year, and from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the summer. The program is designed to facilitate children's learning and to foster competencies in all areas of children's development. The Center is located in buildings M-O and M-l Lambreth Lane; two single story brick buildings connected by a walkway in South Campus . The facility was renovated specifically for child care in 1969 with grant money which funded the "Responsive Care Model." In addition to spacious classrooms, there are separate areas for eating, napping and an outdoor area. Membership is
comprised of children whose families have a full-time affiation with Syracuse
University as either a matriculated student, faculty or staff member. Each
child participates as a member of one of three groups; infant
ENROLLMENT Classroom openings are fed from the waiting list. The acceptance plan is basically first-come-first-served within the numerical constraints of class size. For information about the program and to add a child's name to the waiting list, the Center can be contacted by calling (315) 443-4482. After parents are contacted regarding an opening, they come in to visit and discuss the program.
