DOCTORAL CAREER ADVISORY BOARD
Roseanne Ecker is forming a group of doctoral students to advise her on career programming for doctoral students. This group, the Doctoral Career Advisory Board, will likely meet three times per semester, with its first meeting this month, (the next two meetings will take place in the fall). In addition to planning, volunteers from the board might assist with a program if they are able to. She is forming this board in order to ensure that programming for next year closely reflects doctoral student career needs.
If you are interested in serving on the Doctoral Career Advisory Board, please email her at recker@syr.edu including your year of study, your field, and a few sentences about why you would like to serve on the Board. She will need to balance the composition of the board with doctoral students from different fields and years, but will get back to any who contact her.
Whether you are interested in the board or not, if you have suggestions for next year’s programming, please email Roseanne Ecker at recker@syr.edu.

FEEDBACK
The Grad School is looking into developing a position specifically for graduate mentors within departments across campus based on the idea that people are already spending a lot of time doing this and should be compensated/recognized accordingly. We are in the very early stages of developing this idea, but if you have any insights or comments on this such as whether this position is already built into the FPP within your departments, whether your department would have extreme/moderate/no need for such a position, and what YOU envision such a position doing within your department, please Sam Rebovich at sarebovi@maxwell.syr.edu. We are looking for a wide range of feedback from different departments.

We hope you can join us. Please RSVP to Lee Pomeroy (at etpomero@syr.edu) by April 22, indicating if you can join us for part or all of the morning. GRADUATE STUDENT FUNDING
Please click here for a current list of funding opportunities for Syracuse University graduate students.
STUDENT ORGANIZATION REGISTRATION
All graduate student organizations [including those from academic departments] need to be registered ("recognized") by the Office of Student Life (OSL) as official student organizations before you can claim any use of funds from the GSO.
Registration is an annual requirement and needs to be done even if you have gone through it in previous years. Upon registration, OSL will assign you with a OGLEL organizational consultant that you must work with in the planning of your events. This is above and beyond any advisors you may already have from your departments. Please contact Jared Halter [jmhalter@syr.edu] or call OSL at 443-2718 for information about the registration process.
ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENT JOB SEEKERS
Make sure that you visit the newly updated Career Services Resources for PhDs. Go to the Career Services Web site, students.syr.edu/careerservices and in the upper-right hand corner, visit the PhD Career Resource page. Or click here.
INFORMATION ON FUNDING FOR STUDENT ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES
Please click on FORMS on the left for relevant forms and instructions on how to access or apply for funds from the GSO. Please note that the GSO can only work with student organizations that are registered with the Office of Student Life (OSL) - see below for information on getting registered.
BRING YOUR ID TO THE INN
Prices will be going up at the Inn Complete but not for graduate students. Just show your graduate student ID and pay the same low prices that you have always enjoyed.
