HSC Syracuse Raises $2000 for Cancer Research, Wins Award, at 2nd Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life!
| On April 16-17, the Hindu Students Council of Syracuse University participated with many other campus organizations in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life as part of our goal to perform more service, or Seva, to the community. The Relay for Life is the largest cancer cure charity event in the United States. The second annual Relay here at Syracuse University raised over 105,000 dollars! The highest amount raised at a Relay event in 2004! HSC Syracuse, led by Nishad Majmudar, raised 2,000 dollars and was awarded bronze team status for their hard work. The team took part in activities starting from 6pm on Friday to noon on Saturday. To cap of an already successful relay, HSC Syracuse went home with their 2nd Best Cancer Control Message award! |
