What is an interim suspension? If it has been imposed, why do I have to move or leave before my case has been resolved?
This action by the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, or his or her designee, is a temporary suspension of certain rights or privileges while a judicial case is pending. An interim suspension may be broad and all-inclusive, or may be restricted to a specific location and/or function and is based on the determination that the safety and well-being of the University community or specific persons are at risk. The action is designed to stabilize a negative situation and/or avoid exacerbating a situation prior to final adjudication of the underlying case. Students who fail to adhere to the terms of an interim suspension will be indefinitely suspended or expelled from the University without benefit of further process.
