Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF are home to many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, questioning/queer, and ally (LGBTQA) students, faculty, and staff. Founded in the fall of 2001, the LGBT Resource Center provides a safe and nurturing place for LGBTQA people to make connections and form community. The LGBT Resource Center is a principal unit within the Division of Student Affairs and is part of the Student Support and Diversity Education Cluster along with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Slutzker Center for International Student Services.
The staff at the LGBT Resource Center contributes to Syracuse University’s vision of building the creative campus by working collaboratively with academic and student affairs, as well as many different student organizations, to ensure that the many voices within the LGBTQA community are heard and valued. We are engaged with city, state, and national organizations to address current and pressing concerns of our day related to gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation. However you define your sexual orientation or gender identity, I welcome you to visit our website and center!
