Our hope is to bring the students a little closer to Japan and that students have a memorable time while in the Syracuse Area, by organising cultural events and social gatherings. We would like the people in Syracuse to understand the “Japanese Style”. “Ichi-go ichi-e” (一期一会) is a Japanese proverb which advices to treat each meeting with a person as a once-in-a-life-time experience. Deriving from this, we wish to treasure the meetings that we encounter through the course of our mission and want to cultivate the college experience of the JSA members. The membership is open to all members of the SU community as well as to those who are not officially affiliated with SU but are interested in Japanese culture. (Mission Statement) |
