JSA at SU, Japan Relief Fundraiser -over $ 8,950.00 in total as of June 2011

   On March 11, 2011, the north coast of Japan was hit by a record-breaking 9.0 maginitude earthquake and ensuing tsunami that left tens of thousands dead and landscapes destroyed. We, the Japanese Student Association at Syracuse University have been running a charity fund raising campaigne for Japan Relief Effort. Japan is facing an estimated cost of $180 billion USD for the long-term recovery efforts to rebuild damaged communities and the Japanese economy.
  Thank you very much for your generous donation towards the on-going relief efforts in Japan. Thank you very much for all your efforts to help our charity event. The JSA continues to make every effort to help the quake victims. Please continue to keep Japan in your prayers.

A donation has been posted to the Consulate General of Japan in New York, on behalf of the Syracuse University community. The Consulate General of Japan in NY will forward all funds to relevant organizations that are assisting the affected population of the recent earthquake and tsunami. No overhead costs will be deducted by the Consulate General of Japan.
The JSA would like to share a letter that we got from the Consulate General of Japan.
