Dear
Spring 2008 Candidate:
Thank you for
considering opportunities available in the
Office of Residence Life at Syracuse
University. Our department is an exciting
and rewarding place to work and we encourage
you to pursue application to one of our
openings.
PLACEMENT CONFERENCE INFORMATION :
Currently, we are searching for
new professional staff members for the 2008-2009 academic year. We will be attending the Oshkosh Placement Exchange (February 29-March 2), the NASPA/ACUHO-I Placement Exchange (March 6-9), and the ACPA Placement Exchange (March 29-April 1). If you are interested in meeting with us at one of these conferences we encourage
you to review complete position descriptions
available on the Syracuse University Human Resources website: http://www.sujobopps.com so that you can
identify which position most closely matches
your education and experience level, as well
as your interest. After you have applied, a member of search committee will be contacting you to set up an interview if your qualifications match ours.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
If you apply
for a position within our organization,
please keep the following information in
mind:
Available Positions: All available
positions will be advertised on the Syracuse
University Human Resources website. The
address for this website is
http://www.sujobopps.com .
Application Process: Applications
for positions must be received on line at
http://www.sujobopps.com. In order for an
application to be considered complete, a
Syracuse University application (available
on line), cover letter, resume, and list of
the contact information for 3 references
must be included. Application materials sent
via email will not be considered.
Interview Process: Candidates who
are selected to receive an interview will be
contacted by a member of the search
committee to arrange an interview. There
will be two phases of the interview process.
Initial interviews will be
conducted via phone, on-campus, or at one of
the following placement conventions: Oshkosh
Placement Exchange (OPE), National Association of Student
Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Convention, or American
College Personnel Administrators (ACPA)
Convention.
Campus Interviews will be extended
to a short list of candidates who the search

process in which the candidate has the
opportunity to meet and interact with a
variety of campus constituents including
students and staff. Several group and
individual interviews as well as a campus
tour make up the interview day. Meals and on
campus accommodations are provided to
candidates traveling from out of town.
