Resident Advisor (RA)
Staff
Lawrinson Hall has a staff of 18
RAs. The Resident Advisor (RA)
is a peer advisor and educator
who works with residents to
assist them in addressing their
needs within the residence hall
and the university community.
The position is challenging
because the RA works with
students and administrators,
learns to articulate rights and
responsibilities for both the
individual and the University,
and balances his or her own
pressures of academic and
personal responsibilities.

Main Desk
The residence hall main desk
serves as a business and
information center for
residents, guests, and staff. It
is also a necessary and
important link between students,
the residence hall, and the
University. This link is
established when residents
check-in at the beginning of the
academic year. It continues
throughout the year with
information, messages, keys,
mail, and a variety of other
helpful services and
information. The main desk is
staffed by Main Desk Assistants
(MDA).

Building
Highlights
Housing more than 550 students,
Lawrinson is one of the largest
residence hall communities on
the campus. Comprised of twenty
floors and a penthouse lounge
which makes for a great meeting
room or study space and has a
beautiful view of Syracuse,
Lawrinson is home to both
Syracuse University and SUNY ESF
(State University of New York -
Environmental Science and
Forestry) students.
Located off of Hendricks Field,
along with Sadler Hall and the
Carrier Dome, the environment
makes for a diverse community of
various interests, backgrounds,
and experiences.
In all, what the hall and its
staff offer are the
opportunities to become involved
beyond the classroom. Lawrinson
will be full of activities, both
organizational and social in
nature. Take advantage of your
surroundings. Movie Nights,
community enhancement
programming, and RHA events will
collectively become a
centerpiece for your own
excitement and exploration. Let
