Office of Residence Life Staff

The Office of Residence Life (ORL) is committed to providing an intentional living experience that fosters students' development, supports academic success, and celebrates diversity. Involving students, faculty, and staff in the learning process, ORL strives to engage students in dialogue, interaction, and perspective-taking, continuously challenging students to increase their understanding of the world in which they live.

To accomplish this, ORL employs over 350 staff members throughout its 19 residence halls, apartments, and central offices on North and South Campuses. Full-time, master's level Residence Directors (RDs) administer the residential program in the residence halls and apartments. Each RD is supported by either a full-time Assistant Residence Director (ARD) or Programming Assistant (PA).

Additionally, each residence hall has a staff of Resident Advisors (RAs) who live with and support the residents on the floors. Our ratio of RAs to residents is about 1 RA to every 35 residents. Additionally, Main Desk Assistants (MDAs) staff each residence hall main desk, providing information and mail services to the residents of the building. The Central Office provides support, guidance, and supervision of the overall residential experience. Finally, our Administrative Support personnel and Graduate Assistants provide dedicated support throughout the department.
