Can I Choose My Residence Hall For My First Year?
No. Housing at Syracuse University is randomly assigned. You will have the opportunity to live in any of the Residence Halls on North Campus and South Campus with the exception of Walnut Hall, Watson Hall, and Washtington Arms Hall. These three halls are reserved for upper-level students only.
Do I Need to Fill Out A Roommate Questionnaire?
No. We do not require students to fill out any housing questionnaires. We have found that randomizing housing assignments is the most successful method for pairing up roommates.
What if My Roommate Smokes?
Smoking is not permitted in any building on the Syracuse University campus including the residence halls and on-campus apartments. If you roommate(s) smoke, s/he will need to do so outside.
Do My Roommate and I Have to Pay for Cable?
The Standard Time Warner Cable package is included in each residence hall roommate and on-campus apartment. If you would like upgraded services such as DVR, HBO, Showtime, etc., you and your roommate will need to decide how to pay this bill.
