Philosophy
The philosophy of AMI is that sexual violence is a systemic issue that needs to be acknowledged and addressed as a men’s issue.

Vision
The vision of “AMI” is to move toward a society that embraces gender equity and is free from sexual violence.

Mission
The mission of AMI is to provide leadership among men who wish to live in a respectful environment free from sexual violence. AMI will provide opportunities for discussion about masculinity and what it means to be a male in a society where sexual violence is prevalent, a safe place for self-reflection and dialogue about learned behaviors and belief systems that perpetuate violence, and a forum for exploring options and developing skills to make healthy, intentional choices.

AMI developed as a program of the Syracuse University Rape: Advocacy, Prevention and Education (R.A.P.E.) Center, and works in collaboration with the R.A.P.E. Center in promoting a safe, caring community that will not tolerate sexual violence.
