Neighborhood Youth Recreation Program

Thank you for your interest in the Neighborhood Youth Recreation Program.  NYRP is a Department of Recreation Services and Syracuse University-sponsored program, providing free recreational opportunities for youth from the Syracuse community.  NYRP is designed to give all children, regardless of their economic situation, the opportunity to participate in structured recreational activities.  Lessons are available in gymnastics, basketball, swimming, and various forms of dance.  Sessions are held on weekends throughout the school year, from 9:00am to 12:00pm.  Open Registration for the fall session is from 9:00 to 11:00a.m. on October 10th and 11th 2009, in the Archbold Gymnasium lobby.  Parents/guardians must attend one of the Open Registration sessions to register.  Registration for the second session is from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on January 30th and 31st 2010, in the Archbold Gymnasium lobby.  A calendar with class times and dates will be handed out at the registration sessions.  There are no classes on registration days.  For more information, please contact Celka van Dijk at cmvandij@syr.edu or 315-443-4273.
