| The Schine Student Center
is the hub of activity at Syracuse University. Built in 1985 and designed
by Edward Larrabee Barnes, the Schine Student Center is a three-level
building with four wings that pinwheel off a dramatic central atrium
covered by a pyramid-shaped glass roof. Within the Center are the
1,500-seat Goldstein Auditorium; the Underground; a dining room that
can seat 10 to 200 people; and several meeting rooms, and lounges.
In addition, the Center offers full catering, audio visual, security
services and a box office.
Just outside the doors of the Center is the full range of University
activities and facilities, including a major library, concerts,
lectures, films, and the Lowe Art Gallery. Syracuse is also the
home of the 50,000-seat Carrier Dome, the largest collegiate domed
arena in the country.
