Between classes, activities, jobs and all the other demands that fill the day, it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered. Counseling Center

The Syracuse University Counseling Center is a comprehensive college mental health clinic available to all full-time graduate and undergraduate students from Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The Counseling Center offers a variety of mental health services including: individual counseling, group counseling, consultation, referrals, psychiatric consultation, emergency services, and preventive mental health outreach and education programming. Counseling Center services are included in the student health fee and are completely confidential.

Health Services

Syracuse University Health Services (SUHS) specializes in college health and serves the health care needs of SU and SUNY ESF students. SUHS strives to engage students in their individual health care process. Services include:

  • Office visits
  • Ambulatory care services
  • Pharmacy
  • Syracuse University Ambulance (SUA)
  • SU Medical Transport Services (MTS)
  • Laboratory and X-ray services
  • Allergy injections
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Health education and wellness promotion
  • Public health monitoring and oversight

Office of Prevention Services

The Office of Prevention Services (OPS) advances academic success and personal development for SU students by building comprehensive initiatives to prevent high-risk drinking and other drug use, sexual violence, and related harm. OPS offers a variety of prevention initiatives, early intervention and support services including: student educational groups, trainings, peer theater and workshops; individual and group Options appointments for brief alcohol and other drug interventions; and crisis response, support and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence. OPS is also a leader in enacting the University’s Twelve-Point Plan.

Department of Recreation Services

The Department of Recreation Services coordinates a variety of recreational programs, activities, and facilities at Syracuse University. The staff at Recreation Services invites you to learn about and participate in one of the many quality programs and activities offered to the students, faculty, staff, and campus community.
