Syracuse University and the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship Programs are committed to student success. In these unusual and unprecedented times, we recognize that students may face unexpected challenges in reaching their educational goals and may need short-term financial support. To apply for emergency relief please submit this application and the 2019-20 or 2020-21 FAFSA. Grants awarded are intended to reduce financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic, but in some instances will not fully resolve or remove the financial burden. Examples of COVID-19 related expenses eligible for grant consideration include, but are not limited to: emergency travel, medical expenses, costs related to emergency shelter, storage/shipping costs, technology needs resulting in expenses that exceed what is already provided for in the Cost of Attendance, medical/health related expenses, food insecurity, accessibility, and childcare expenses. Please set up direct deposit on MySlice, in the Finances section of your Student Services list. If this is not possible, please make sure that the permanent address you have listed is correct. This address is where your paper check will be mailed if no direct deposit information is provided. When funds become available, paper checks will be mailed once a week. Grants will be awarded to students for the duration that resources are available.
These are travel costs that arose due to the change of the start date for the Spring semester.
