2022 Goon Squad Application

Since 1944, Goon Squad members have been the friendly group of returning students who greet first-year and transfer students as they arrive on campus and help them move into their residence halls. We hope you participate in this important Syracuse tradition!

Goon Squad Perks:
• Early move-in date of Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 (no exceptions).
• Receive three hours of community service per volunteer shift.
• If four or more members of a Recognized Student Organization register, their organization name will be listed on the back of the 2022 Goon Squad shirt (deadline: June 10, 2022) AND will be invited to table at the OrangeBlast! Involvement Fair on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 (deadline: July 22, 2022).
• Recruit new students for your Recognized Student Organization.

Responsibilities:
• Attend a Goon Squad Required Training on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, time TBA.
• Greeting and wayfinding.
• Help new students move into their residence halls.

Move-in 2022 Volunteer Schedule:
• Tuesday, Aug. 23, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 24, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 25, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

**You have until Friday, July 22 for your Student Organization/Group to be invited to table at the Orange Blast! Involvement Fair, as long as at least four members sign-up to volunteer at least one shift.

You may list more than one organization/group, but in order to be counted for multiple organizations, you will need to volunteer for that many shifts throughout move-in.

Student Organizations with 4 or more members participating will be featured on the 2022 Goon Squad shirt and invited to table at the Orange Blast! Involvement Fair during Syracuse Welcome.

Please list the official name of the organization/group as we will use this for printing purposes for the Goon Squad shirts.
